Twenty-eight people have died and hundreds have been injured in a wave of attacks by giant hornets in central China. Victims described it as a scene from out of a movie, being chased for hundreds of metres by the creatures and stung as many as 200 times. capable of flying up to 62 miles at speeds of 25 mph. Hornets can sting their victims repeatedly, releasing a potent venom containing 8 different chemicals that attracks more hornets to the victim. Most of the attacks in the past three months were in remote, rural, wooded areas.
